CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — And some relief could finally be on the way for some westside neighborhoods prone to flooding during heavy rain events.
We're talking about the area around Greenwood and Saratoga.
La Volla Creek runs through that area and it's prone to flooding and sewage overflows from the Greenwood Waste Treatment Plant.
The general land office last month approved a grant to build a detention pond that will help with the flooding problems.
A public meeting will be held Thursday Jan. 23 to inform residents about the project.
That meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Greenwood Senior Center, 4040 Greenwood Dr.
