CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — More startling data was revealed by the researchers over at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

They are continuing to predict that our hospital system will be strained with COVID-19 patients by mid-December, which is a few weeks from now.

Currently there are 105 people hospitalized here in Corpus Christi with the virus.

Nueces County Public Health Director Annette Rodriguez says people need to use caution with Thanksgiving coming up next week. "Invite only immediate family members this year. Be extra careful this week prior to your celebration and encourage your family to do the same. Do not practice risky behavior," said Rodriguez.

Dr. Bird with Texas A&M Corpus Christi is also urging people to avoid traveling if they can.
