CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Hurricane Harvey rebuild continues in the Coastal Bend with the latest project related to that was a playground.

Two years ago, Harvey destroyed the Little Bay Campus in the Aransas County ISD.

Pre-K and Headstart kids who attended that campus were moved to the Live Oak Learning Center.

But they didn't have a playground until today.

The new play area was dedicated this afternoon.

“For children a lot of times that they've been through any kind of trauma, play is probably one of the best kinds of therapies that they can have,” said Robin Rice, principal of the Live Oak Learning Center.

The playground was built with funds from Rebuild Texas, the Ed Rachal Foundation and other community donations.
