CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Hamlin Fountain & Gift Shop + Bakery had a bit of bad luck opening its doors Saturday.
The popular eatery and shop located at the corner of Staples and Weber announced on its Facebook page that it was closed because it had no one to work the soda fountain and gift shop.
On Friday, restaurants across Texas were able to start filling their dining rooms at 75 percent capacity. Unfortunately for the Hamlin Fountain & Gift Shop + Bakery, it will have to wait to benefit from the relaxed restriction until Monday. The diner formerly known as Hamlin Pharmacy and Fountainreplied to a couple of questions on the post.
Tyshan Pyle asked "No employees? Is everyone ok?" Hamlin replied, "Everyone is ok. We just didn’t have enough staff to run the soda fountain and the gift shop."
Hamlin Fountain & Gift Shop did not say why its employees were unable to work on Saturday.
