H-E-B will be taking its annual Feast of Giving holiday dinner campaign into people's homes to help stall the spread of COVID-19 in November and December.

The popular grocery chain announced Thursday that instead of hosting its traditional in-person dinner throughout Texas and Mexico, that it would instead be donating 340,000 meals to organizations and food banks dedicated to feeding their communities.

Among them will be Meals on Wheels, along with more than 40 other hunger-relief groups, and 18 food banks across the state. They will distribute and deliver meals consisting of roasted turkey, green beans and mashed potatoes with garlic butter.

The company hopes to resume in-person Feast of Sharing events in 2021.
