CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Gregory Portland Independent School District will offer free meals to any child 18 or younger.

The food service team at GPISD will begin offering the program all week, Monday, March 23.

On Monday, breakfast can be picked up at the regular time between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.. After that, from 11;30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the pickup will include lunch for that day and breakfast for the next day. And then, starting Tuesday, there will be no more 8 a.m. pickup time. This way, parents will only need to make one trip a day for two meals per child. This weekday service has now been extended to weekends.

"We hope this will aid in social distancing as well as less travel for families, while also now ensuring our children have free meals EVERY day of the week." GPISD said in a press release.
