CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — With the sales of Girl Scout cookies already underway, getting ahold of your favorite box may sound difficult during the pandemic, however the Girl Scouts of Greater South Texas are making not only possible, but safer.

Michelle Martinez with the Girl Scouts of Greater South Texas points those interested in the annual tradition to visit the organization’s cookie-finder on their website.

A quick zip code search shows that the city of Corpus Christi will have numerous locations open at different times throughout the next month.

Martinez adds that scouts have been sending out “cookie links” to friends and family.

“We may do door-knockers where we just put door hangers with my cell phone where they can text the order back to us,” she said. “We can do a safe, curbside delivery as well with no contact to our customers.”

Martinez’s daughters Aley and Bella Martinez, ages 8 and 11 respectively, said instances like this are a step toward normalcy.

“Even though everything is going on and COVID is everywhere — you still want some normal life,” Bella Martinez said. “So, Girl Scout cookies is the way us Girl Scouts would (have) a normal life.”

Bella said she is looking forward to the organization’s annual event, World Thinking Day, which is dedicated to focusing on other cultures around the world. Aley hopes she is able to sell enough cookies to win the coveted stuffed sloth.
