CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — If you haven't got a flu shot yet, it might be a good idea.
Flu cases here in Nueces County are higher than they were last year.
Last week, 345 flu cases were reported. That compares to only 53 flu cases reported at this time last year.
If you spent the holidays in bed with the flu, you're not alone.
According to the latest data from the CDC, 28 states are now reporting high flu activity.
That's up from 21 states last week.
So far this season there have been at least 4.6 million illnesses, 39,000 hospitalizations and 2,100 deaths from the flu.
Children accounted for 22 of those deaths.
