A woman suffered a seizure while on State Hwy. 358, flipping her white Ford F-150 onto the SPID westbound access road between Ennis Joslin and Rodd Field Road.

Corpus Christi Police Department Ofc. Jacob Schaum said at about 3:30 p.m., the driver veered off the Rodd Field Road exit ramp as she began to seize.

"First she took out this pole right there, then, as she took out the pole, she kept going and knocked out those little barriers right there," Schaum said. "And then once she hit that electrical pole, she flipped."

The woman is in stable condition, and escaped the episode without injury. Her truck was the only vehicle involved in the accident.

He said it "looked like she might have come off just a little bit early," and then "had a seizure and then just came off the road."

The accident caused a small power outage, according to the AEP-Texas website outage map.

The access road and and the exit ramp to State Hwy. 358 currently are closed. Officers are unsure of when it will re-open.

"At this time I'm not able to make that judgment," he said, "just because we have gas an electric out here right now. So until they're clear. . . . Then we should be good.
