CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Nueces County commissioners took the first steps in restoring the old county courthouse.
Today, the county approved the search for a structural engineer and preservation architect to assess the building and protect it from further damage.
Those assessments will be paid for through a grant from the Texas Historical Commission.
Commissioners hope to find a developer interested in turning the building into a boutique hotel.
