CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A busy intersection was closed off earlier tonight so firefighters could battle a fire inside a of a building.

The incident happened at the 4500 block of Ayers Street and Gollihar Road around 7:25 p.m. Wednesday night.

According to firefighters, passer-bys saw heavy smoke coming from businesses at the Corpus Christi Business Park.

It took fire crews a couple of minutes to find the source of the smoke because they said the businesses are so closely connected.

Corpus Christi Fire Department Battalion Chief Frank Solonsky said, "We had smoke in 4, 5, 6 of them and so just finding that fire was the most difficult part because it was only in one unit." They eventually found the fire and put it out in ten minutes.

A fire investigator will determine later what started the fire.
