Joe Kelley was named acting Flour Bluff Independent School District superintendent during a Thursday night school board meeting.
FBISD spokeswoman Kim Sneed tells KRIS 6 News the change comes because current Superintendent David Freeman has had to take leave for health reasons.
The health reasons were not disclosed.
The Flour Bluff ISD School Board approved a contract for Kelley until Freeman can return.
