DPS Troopers are investigating a fatal crash that an off duty Bexar County deputy and his fiance dead last night.
The crash happened Wednesday 9:40 p.m., on Farm Market 796, approximately ten miles east of Sinton in San Patricio County.
Investigators say a truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling south on FM 796 while a Toyota Tacoma was traveling east on State Highway 188.
Troopers say the driver of the 18-wheeler disregarded the stop sign at the intersection causing the driver of the Tacoma to hit the 18-wheeler.
Investigators said neither the driver nor passenger of the Tacoma was wearing seat belts and both were ejected.
20-year-old Noah Israel Calderon and 21-year-old Samantha Grace Handy, both from San Antonio, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
A second passenger, 13-year-old boy, was also in the Tacoma at the time of the crash. He was flown by Halo to Driscoll Children's Hospital.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
DPS Troopers are still investigating the fatal crash.
