CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — DPS troopers want to remind you to be safe if you plan to hit the road this holiday weekend.
Starting now through Monday, DPS troopers will be increase its presence out on the road looking for drivers who are speeding, not wearing their seat belts or driving while under the influence.
During last year's holiday weekend, DPS issued more than 100,000 citations and warnings and arrested nearly 500 drunk drivers.
