CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Texas Department of Public Safety troopers will also be on patrol tonight.

One of their main duties will be to keep an eye out for drunk drivers.

A "no refusal" policy is in place.

That means if you're pulled over and you refuse to take a breath test, a judge will issue a warrant for a blood test.

The DPS says it's all about saving lives.

“It's other people's lives at stake as well as your own and you don't want to be that person who injures or kills somebody else and have to live with that for the rest of your life,” DPS Sgt. Nathan Brandley said. “Besides the possibilities of serving time in prison.”

The "no refusal" policy continues through Jan. 2.
