Crosstown Expressway and IH37 intersection closed temporarily for Harbor Bridge construction

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Crosstown Expressway connection to IH 37 will be closed off temporarily this Friday night through Saturday evening.

Beginning Friday, April 24, at 9 p.m., the direct connectors from southbound IH 37 to southbound SH 286 (Crosstown Expressway), and from northbound IH 37 to southbound SH 286 will be closed until 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 25. Through a press release on Wednesday, FlatIron/Dragados, the company in charge of the Harbor Bridge Project, says the closures are necessary to complete construction of an interchange detour.

The company advises drivers who need to get on to Crosstown Expressway going south from IH 37 should take the exit for Port Avenue to Leopard Street. And drivers needing to access Crosstown Expressway from the IH-37 going north should exit Nueces Bay Boulevard to Leopard Street. Detours will be in place and traffic signs will assist motorists with navigating the alternative routes.

Beginning Saturday, April 25, at 9 p.m., the left lane of the direct connector from northbound IH 37 to Crosstown Expressway going southbound will be remain closed for construction. The closure is to allow crews to complete construction of a new connector. The northbound left lane will remain closed until the construction is complete.Traffic control devices will be in place.

Use alternate routes if possible and slow down in the work zones.
