CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Judge Deeanne Galvan of Nueces County Court at Law 3 issued a continuance today in the lawsuit the Port of Corpus Christi and the City of Port Aransas until early next week.

The attorneys set the exact date behind closed doors, but it has not been announced.

Attorneys for the Port of Corpus Christi and Port Aransas argued their cases for about 45 minutes this afternoon.

The Port is seeking a temporary injunction or a temporary restraining order against Port Aransas to stop the city from meddling in the port's development plans for Harbor Island.

In August, the city passed an 60-day emergency ordinance that said that the city would not approve any permits for Harbor Island during that time period.

The Port's argument is that there are hundreds of millions of dollars dedicated to their plans to put a marine terminal for oil and gas products on Harbor Island -- $100 million for next year alone -- and any delays put in place from the city are detrimental to that project.
