CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — If you’re familiar with other Asian restaurants around town, you’ve probably heard about Imperial Cafe & Sushi Bar.

The restaurant, owned by Sang Sananikone and her two sons, Arik and Nith, was damaged by fire in 2017. Part of the popular restaurant was burned.

It took more than a year for the Sananikones to get their restaurant back up and running, but in that time they chose to revamp the place altogether.

With a whole new modern look and simplistic style, Imperial was reborn last October.

Nith Sananikone tells KRIS 6 the community has responded in astounding ways and the new menu is inspired by many regulars of the family-owned restaurant.

You can find high-quality seafood either rolled up in their signature sushi rolls, sashimi or salad dishes.

Nith Sananikone says Imperial Cafe & Sushi Bar takes a little bit of flavor from his family’s travels around the world to create the Asian cuisine.

From Vietnamese dishes, Thai curry and sushi, Imperial has a mix of authentic meals straight from the Eastern side of the World.

Imperial Cafe & Sushi Bar is located at 4650 Corona Drive in Corpus Christi. There phone number is (361) 808-8881. The restaurant is open 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. It is closed on Sunday and Monday.

You can find more information about them at their Facebook page here.
