Last year the Coastal Bend Food Bank distributed over 10 million pounds of food.
That equals 8.6 million meals across 11 counties.
Operations Manager James Burnett said he has seen amazing growth in the food bank's distribution network over the years.
"I know, looking back about 10 years ago we were distributing right at about 5 million pounds a year and that was about our capacity and the need was out there," Burnett said. "So our job, at the time, was to try and source more food."
This year, the food bank needs the community's help to make its goals of feeding those in need in the Coastal Bend a reality.
