CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coast Guard announced that they located a body matching the description of a missing swimmer.
The Coast Guard ended their search for the missing swimmer Thursday when the body was located two miles north of Beach Access 6 near South Padre Island, Texas.
The swimmer reportedly went missing sometime before Wednesday morning when Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders were notified.
South Padre Island Police Department initially reported the missing swimmer near Beach Access 21.
The identity of the body has not yet been released.
Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi, Coast Guard Station South Padre Island, Coast Guard Cutter Edgar Culbertson, Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, South Padre Island Fire Department Beach Patrol, and South Padre Island Police Department were all involved in the search.
