CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Richard Martinez assumed the role as Corpus Christi's director of public works and street operations today.
City Manager Peter Zanoni formally introduced Martinez at a meet and greet event this morning.
That’s where we caught up with Martinez, who says there's a lot of work ahead for the city.
“For a city our size, our conditions of our streets could be much better,” Martinez said. “But it's not, again, something that we can't overcome.”
Martinez previously oversaw the streets of Fort Worth in an assistant role.
He is replacing former director Albert Quintanilla.
