ALICE, Texas — The COVID-19 positivity rate in Jim Wells County is up to 12.9 percent for the week of November 19-22.

This almost two percent increase from the week before has prompted the City of Alice to alert residents of the increase; urging them to celebrate the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday virtually, or with only people who live with them.

The city's warning comes as the U.S. COVID-19 cases continue to increase coming into the holiday season, with at least 100,000 new COVID-19 cases being reported each day for the last three weeks.
