CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Crews have begun combing the City of Corpus Christi desperately trying to locate a break in the water main.

It's that break that is causing a loss in water pressure for many and in some case no water at all.

City leaders say you can expect intermittent and disruptive water service as crews work from the northwest corner of the city toward the west searching for the break.

Officals say the U.S. Coast Guard also is assisting with the search.

The city says a helicopter crew covered nearly 100 miles of water pipelines from Corpus Christi, Calallen, and Padre Island to find the source of the issue on Wednesday.

The city says it has 1,800 miles of pipe to search to find the source of the break.

People with water concerns can also contact the city's customer call center at 361-826-2489.

The city says that number is experiencing higher than average call volumes, so you may be on hold longer than usual.

City leaders are also asking everyone to conserve water at this time.
