CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Police Department has identified the two officers who were involved in the shooting of a burglary suspect early Tuesday.

They are Officer Jacob O'Sullivan, a six year veteran of the department and Officer Rene Rodriguez who has been with the department for about a year.

The policemen were investigating a break-in at the Misty Winds Mobile Home Park on Ayers Street when they were confronted by an armed suspect.

Police say the suspect ignored commands. The suspect then pulled out a firearm and both officers shot the suspect according to Markle.

Two other suspects were arrested at the scene.

Both officers are currently on paid leave.
