CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Corpus Christi police say a man fired a gun more than a dozen times, hitting a car.

The incident happened just before 1 pm Sunday outside of a home in the 500 block of 19th Street near Mary Street.

Investigators said an argument between two friends broke out due to one friend owing another friend money. When the victim told the suspect, he didn't have any cash to repay the loan, the suspect pulled out a gun and fired it at the victim's car. Police say 10 to 15 shots were fired.

The suspect went back inside his home and police officers swarmed the house. Police used a loudspeaker to get a man and two females out of the home.

The man was quickly taken into custody while the two females were detained.

Police said this is still an active investigation. But they added the male suspect will be charged with aggravated assault for firing a deadly weapon.

Lieutenant Brian Hager, with the Corpus Christi police department, said, "Any time you fire a weapon indiscriminately you are putting other people's lives in danger and that is definitely not a good thing."

Police are not sure how many times the suspect fired because nearby neighbors picked up the shell casings.
