CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Police responded to a disturbance call outside of a convenience store and came across an unconscious man who had a gun.
Officers were called out to the 15000 block of South Padre Island Drive around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said before the officers responded, they were advised that a shot was heard and there was a male sitting in a white vehicle who was armed with a handgun.
According to investigators, when the officers arrived, they found the vehicle parked in a convenience store parking lot with the door open and a male inside who was passed out in the seat.
The officers were able to secure the handgun from the man before they woke him up.
Police say the man, believed to be in his 40s, was taken to a hospital due to injuries he sustained before police arrived.
Investigators said this is an ongoing investigation.
