The shooting took place after 2 p.m. Sunday outside of an apartment complex in the 1400 West Point Road.

According to Lt. Chuck Freeman, with the Corpus Christi police department, a large brawl erupted when two groups of people started arguing.

As the fight continued, someone pulled out a gun and fired gunshots into the ground. The noise from the gunshots sent several people running away from the scene. Police at the scene said the person who fired the gun also took off.
