CCPD arrests man in connection to westside stabbing

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Corpus Christi police have arrested a man in connection with a stabbing.

The stabbing happened in San Diego Park along David Street just after 4:50 p.m Friday.

Police say the victim was stabbed in the park and walked to a convenience store near the area of Port Avenue and Tarlton Street. He asked workers to dial 911.

Officers discovered the victim inside the convenience store with a couple of stab wounds.

Upon review of surveillance video, police identified the suspect and later arrested 20-year-old Juan Antonio Moya. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Crime Scene Investigators were also called out to the location to gather evidence.

The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition. But police later confirmed the man was last listed in stable condition.
