CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Police Department said they handed out more firework citations this year than in last year's New Year's Eve celebrations.
According to police, officers handed out 50 firework citations last Thursday night.
This amount of citations is significantly higher from the amount citations handed out in previous years. Last year, CCPD handed out just five fireworks citations.
When asked about the amount of citations handed out last year, CCPD Deputy Chief Billy Breedlove said, "We will continue to try to make improvements next year when we go out after those violations."
