CCFD: Storage unit fire intentionally set

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Corpus Christi fire investigators say the cause of a storage unit fire was intentionally set.

A three-alarm blaze that erupted at the U-Haul self-storage facility around 2:30 pm Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, near the corner of Kostoryz Road and SPID. The fire continued to burn out late into Monday night.

Corpus Christi Fire Marshall Randy Paige says the fire was intentionally set.

Asst. Chief Paige also said the They found thousands of tissue samples which slowed down the investigation process.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance video to find the person who caused the fire.
