CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales detailed the damage Hurricane Hanna caused at Bob Hall Pier.
Canales said the pier's parking lot was destroyed, the t-head structure at the end of the pier was broken off, railings and power lines and light poles were damaged or destroyed.
There is also a concern about hidden damage, Canales said.
“The structural integrity at this moment is in question and we're going to have to have a thorough engineering analysis in order to answer whether or not this pier has good structure still,” Canales said.
For the time being, .the pier and the beach nearby are not allowing visitors because of safety concerns.
There is also a lot of trash and debris that still needs to be cleared out.
