CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Two burglary suspects were arrested after detectives found several stolen items being sold online.
According to officials, detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division and the Organized Crime Unit of the Corpus Christi Police Department discovered the stolen items online and set up a meeting with the offenders. The suspects, 27-year-old Trinidad Gomez and 26-year-old Dylan Cantu, showed up to the meeting with the stolen items.
Upon arriving on the scene and speaking with the suspects, undercover officers noticed a handgun on the passenger floorboard. Uniformed officers then intervened and detained the two suspects who were charged with theft and unlawful carrying of a firearm.
Officers were able to recover the stolen items, one of which was a rifle. Detectives were also able to recover more stolen items at an address on Curtis Clark.
Trinidad Gomez was arrested on two counts of theft.
Dylan Cantu was arrested on two counts of theft, unlawful carrying of a weapon and an outstanding warrant for driving while intoxicated.
