There is a renewed call for Jim Kaelin to step down as Nueces Co. Republican Party Chair.Last night, the Nueces Co. Black Democrats have passed a resolution calling for Kaelin's removal as GOP party chair.
The firestorm began last week when it was revealed that Kaelin shared a post on his Facebook page that he said was sent to him by a state police investigator. The post proposes the possibility that Floyd's death was a staged event.
Black democrats condemned the post as racist.
Gov. Greg Abbott called on Kaelin to resign, but he refused, last Friday night the Nueces Co. Republican Party gave Kaelin a unanimous vote of confidence.
Abbott renewed the call again Tuesday in an interview with KRIS 6 News.
