CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Beeville man who crashed a stolen pickup truck into the North Gate of NAS-Corpus Christi back in October has been sentenced to time in federal prison.
U.S. District Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos sentenced Brian Robinson to 33 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
Robinson will also have to pay $12,000 in restitution for damage at the base.
Robinson pleaded guilty back in November, admitting that he was in possession of a stolen firearm and intentionally caused damage to federal property.
At the time of the incident, Robinson told investigators he was trying to commit suicide by cop.
