BANQUETE, Texas — Banquete Independent School District announced Friday that Banquete High School will be switching to remote learning until after Thanksgiving break after two students tested positive for COVID-19.

Students can return to face-to-face instruction on November 30. Until then, the school will be deep-cleaned and disinfected. Those who have been exposed to the COVID-positive students will receive a phone call letting them know no later than 8 p.m. on Saturday Nov. 14.

Free COVID-19 testing will be available to students and staff Monday Nov. 16 at Spohn Memorial.

This closure is not affecting any other Banquete ISD campuses.
