Corpus Christi police have arrested a suspect who allegedly shot and killed a 17-year-old boy on the city's Westside.

According to officials, 20-year-old Jonathan Greenwood was arrested, transported to the police department for questioning, and is now in the City Detention Center for processing.

Greenwood was booked on one warrant for murder with a $300,000 bond.

The shooting, which was said to have begun with an argument, happened at the intersection of Leigh and Villa Drive just after 9 p.m. Sunday.

The suspect arrived at a home on the 3900 block of Leigh Dr. and argued with the victim in the driveway before shooting at him several times, striking him in the chest.

Corpus Christi Police Lt. Michael Pena said this was not a random act of violence and the victim and the suspect knew each other.
