CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The deadline to appply for the Del Mar College Fire Academy with the Public Safety Department will be on Monday.
If you have ever considered a career as a firefighter, these courses can help you get there with their Fall 2020 academy cohort.
The program offers an Associate in Applied Science degree, which includes two semesters of fire science training and a semester-long emergency medical technician (EMT) training class, and prepares cadets for careers with Coastal Bend and other Texas employers seeking firefighters.
The program is prepared to provide training that includes health and safety protocols during the pandemic and may include face-to-face or hybrid training as well as online instruction for portions of the academy.
The Fall 2020 DMC Fire Academy cohort will begin Aug. 24.
