CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The 61st annual South Texas Trail Ride kicked off early this morning.
The riders will travel down Route 181 on horses and carriages.
Each day they will go about 18 to 20 miles before stopping for the night.
Members from all over the country join in on this yearly ride.
The goal of it all:
“We do this to try to keep the cowboy tradition alive for the little ones like this for the next generation so we keep this going,” trail rider Donna Busselman said.
The trail riders finally will arrive at their destination next Friday - a week from today.
They will finish at the Greater San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.
