CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Nueces County Animal Services' “Home for the Holidays” adoption event ends Friday, and the group is hoping to have all of its kennels clear for Christmas.

“The shelter will be preparing for Christmas holiday closure and operating on limited hours next week,” said volunteer Lisa Bockholt. “We need all dogs, cats, puppies and kittens off stray hold out before Friday 5 p.m.”

Through Friday, animal services is offering all of the animals in its care for a $25 adoption fee, which includes a rabies vaccination provided by local low-cost clinic.
