CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Texas Department of Transportation has suspended some road work that caused a massive traffic jam late Wednesday afternoon on the Harbor Bridge.
Highway 181 was reduced to one lane from the Nueces Bay Causeway north to the Moore Avenue exit in Portland.
Crews were working on a pavement improvement project that had some drivers stuck in slow moving traffic for up to an hour.
After what happened yesterday, TXDOT has suspended work until at least Sunday.
They'll talk to the contractor to re-evaluate the work schedule.
It may shift to overnight work.
