AEP Texas restores power to over 1,700 on South side of Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — AEP has confirmed that power has been restored to over 1,700 customers on the city's South side.

AEP representative Frank Espinosa told us the cluster of outages happened at about 8 p.m. in the neighborhoods around the the intersection of Staples and Oso Parkway, referred to as the Country Creek subduction area.

There was a total of 1,900 customers without power. Most of the power was restored by about 10 p.m.. AEP crews were still working on restoring the remaining 152 customers at about 10:30 p.m..

The outage was said to be caused by equipment failure,
