CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Many residents across Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend are getting their power restored.
AEP Texas says they have made significant progress restoring electricity to customers left without power after Hurricane Hanna made landfall as a Category 1 storm Saturday.
AEP Texas crews said they added personnel and restored electricity to more than 81 percent of all affected customers in the impacted areas of the Corpus Christi, Laredo, and Rio Grande Valley Districts.
A news statement added, "The largest remaining groups of customer outages are located in the Rio Grande Valley. Restoration in the Corpus Christi District is nearing completion. Power has been restored to those impacted in the Laredo District."
