CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Eight children were injured after a car struck a school bus.
The crash happened early Wednesday morning in San Patricio County near Mathis.
According to San Patricio County Sheriff Oscar Rivera, deputies responded to TX-359 and County Road 1038 south of Mathis.
"The bus driver was traveling south and attempted to make a left turn onto CR 1038," Rivera said. "According to witnesses, a south bound car was passing a set of vehicles when the bus driver negotiated his left turn."
The car struck the school bus on the left, front side, injuring the bus driver. Eight children also received minor injuries when they were tossed around.
