65-year-old Kingsville man fatally stabbed outside his home

KINGSVILLE, TEXAS — Kingsville police are looking for a second suspect who was involved in a fatal stabbing.

The incident happened just before 10 a.m. Monday in the 500 block of E. Fordyce Avenue near Flato Park in Kingsville.

According to police, two suspects walked up to a 65-year-old man who was cleaning his car inside of his driveway. Investigators believe the two suspects tried to rob the victim before he was stabbed.

Police said the victim's wife heard yelling and found her husband on the ground with stab wounds. Police said 65-year-old Jacinto Obregon died after being stabbed.

Police said the two suspects fled the scene on foot. Officers were able to find one of the suspects near the train tracks in the 500 block of 6th Street.

Police said the suspect had blood on his hands. The suspect, identified as 18-year- old Omar Valdez of Dallas, Texas, was arrested and charged with capital murder.

Investigators are still looking for the second suspect involved in the stabbing.
