A play set in South Texas is at Aurora Arts Theatre this weekend.
It is called “Casa Rio! A South Texas Comedy,” and according to their Facebook event, “The misadventures of enterprising Consuelo and her pushy neighbor, Licha, provoke laughter reminiscent of the “I Love Lucy” sitcoms of yesteryear. An upcoming convention inspires Consuelo to convert her home into Casa Rio Bed & Breakfast, and she soon discovers that the pursuit of the American dream is not as easy as she thought.”
The play was written by Roberto Nieto, and the whole thing is especially close to home because it is set in South Texas.
There is a Saturday showing at 7:30 and a Sunday performance at 2:30 pm at the Aurora Arts Theatre.
