Corpus Christi Police say they will allow the Nueces County District Attorney’s Office to determine whether to press charges against the gunman involved in this weekend’s shooting on North Beach.
The shooting happened about 10:15 p.m. Saturday near Fajitaville, a popular North Beach Restaurant.
When officers arrived, they found 28-year-old Jacob Lopez of Alice, who’d been shot more than once. Lopez was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Officers detained three men at the scene. One of those men is believed to have shot the victim.
Corpus Christi Police Department Senior Officer Gena Pena tells KRIS 6 News the department’s Criminal Investigation Division will hand over their evidence to the Nueces County District Attorney’s Office to determine whether or not to pursue charges.
