Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve offers nature and science camp for kids and teens this summer

The Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve is bringing some awesome new nature camps that focuses on science education for kids and teens in the Coastal Bend.

One of the camps is called O.S.O. Guardians Nature Camp and the O.S.O. stands for Observe Science Outdoors. Children between the ages of 5 – 11 are invited to attend the camp this summer from June 11 to August 9.

The camp goes from 9 in the morning till noon Monday through Friday and campers will get to go on a field trip to visit a local nature spot every Thursday!

The other camp is for teens. It is called the Coastal Chronicles Teen Camp and it’s for kids ages 11 – 15.

From July 15 through the 19th, campers will create nature documentaries using provided equipment. They will get the opportunity to kayak at Mustang Island State Park, explore the Texas State Aquarium, tour the Padre Island National Seashore, and fish at the TPWD/CCA Fish Hatchery.

This camp runs daily from 8:15 am to 12:15pm.

The camp costs $99 per person per camp, but participants will receive a t-shirt, nature journal, water bottle and backpack on their first day of camp.
