City of C.C. announces grace period for unpaid utility accounts is over at the end of May

The City of Corpus Christi says the grace period to repay unpaid utility accounts will end next month.

As we’ve reported, the city changed its software system in December 2017. A software glitch led to several people being undercharged.

In Summer 2018, the city realized it had about 17,000 accounts that had not been paid in full and offered customers payment plans to catch up.

The city now says that grace period will end at the end of May.

The City of Corpus Christi Interim I.T. Director Peter Collins said if your bill hasn’t been paid by then, city crews will disconnect your water and gas beginning in June.

They will also place your trash can on a “Do Not Pickup” list.
