Police say an 18-year-old young man is in critical condition after a shootout near Moody High School.
Corpus Christi police are gathering evidence after a shooting on the city’s west-side.
Police respond to shooting near Moody High School
The shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. near in a neighborhood in front of Moody High school.
According to Lieutenant James Gray, with the Corpus Christi police department, a fight broke out and the incident escalated to a shooting. “As officers arrived, they found an 18-year-old male who had been shot several times,” Lt. Gray continued.
The teenager was transported to Christus Spohn Shoreline and was last listed in critical condition.
Lt. Gray said a car belonging to administrative staff with Moody High School was also struck by gunfire in the high school parking lot.

Investigators said they do not know the suspects that were involved in the shooting and added they are still in the early stages of the investigation.
