Earth Day Bay Day

What better way to celebrate Earth Day than celebrating our beaches, bays, estuaries, wildlife, and waterways thanCoastal Bend Bays Foundation’s 20th Anniversary Earth Day – Bay Day!

Where the water meets the land is an important part of our local ecosystem. The Coastal Bend Bays Foundation wants to have some fun and teach some families about the wonders of nature on a local level.

People of all ages can catch a fish, climb a rock wall, see a raptor show, and experience interactive educational exhibits from all over Texas.

One of the highlights of the event will be a Green Technology Expo that is meant to teach children about a future in STEM careers. It will include local alternative energy products, an OmniGlobe from EarthX, and a small drone piloting presentation.

The event is free and open to the public and will take place Saturday, April 6 from 10 in the morning to 5 in the evening atHeritage Park (1581 North Chaparral Street).

Here are some of the exhibits to expect:
• Wild Sky Productions Raptor Show
• Victoria Zoo – including an ocelot, coati, & a great-horned owl
• Texas State Aquarium
• Youth Odyssey and the Rock Wall
• The Kiwanis Club fishing pond
